Citizen Science raccoon, raccoon dog and mink report via app

Researchers are keeping a close eye on the raccoon as an invasive species – because it threatens native wildlife and may also bring new diseases. They have similar concerns about the East Asian raccoon dog and the North American mink. The researchers are now relying on citizen scientists to monitor these small predators. Anyone who sees raccoons & co. while out and about can report their observations via app – and send along photos of the animals or their tracks.
